Good Vibrations
Return to Latest NewsA young person on Stephenson ward has been working on a project to make a musical instrument known as a membranophone. It is called a membranophone because changes in air pressure cause the rubber glove membrane to vibrate and make a sound. The project involved knowledge from a variety of subjects including Design Technology, Science, Music and Maths. Unfortunately you won’t be able to hear the sound it produces, but if you imagine a baby elephant in distress you won’t be far wrong.
