Read For Good at the GNCH and the Freeman Hospital

We were able to welcome Gerry, our Read for Good storyteller, to the wards last week. The pupils have enjoyed listening to his stories and his wonderful singing. In addition to listening to stories, the pupils were able to choose a book from the Read for Good trolley. Gerry works for the “Read for Good” charity, which provides all the books and storytellers for hospitals throughout the UK.

Gerry cheered up some young people who were having a difficult time. It was lovely to see them relax and laugh when Gerry sang and talked to them. The patients’ parents said Gerry’s visit had made such a difference to their child’s day. These photographs show how much the young people have enjoyed Gerry’s visit.
