Dementia Friends

In Life Skills this half term, Class 2 have been learning about dementia and what it means to be a Dementia friend.

Students have shown a high level of empathy and curiosity about how to best support people living with the disease.

Today Mark Overton, a Dementia Friends Ambassador, came to speak to the class about their work and to share more insight into Dementia and how we as individuals and as a community can best support people with Dementia we may come in to contact with.

Students were engaged throughout the session and asked some very poignant questions to develop their understanding.

Class 2 are now all considered Dementia Friends and wear their badges with pride.
