Students from Class 6 and Class 7 enjoyed a visit to the Great North Museum in Newcastle as part of their science studies. They took part in a workshop led by museum staff called ‘99% Ape’. They were given the opportunity to handle specimens from the museum’s collection and explore the adaptations of different species. They were then shown exact replicas of fossilised skulls. Students rose to the challenge of putting them in the correct order to show human evolution. The morning finished with students being given the opportunity to explore the museum. It was a very enjoyable visit!!
